The theme at this year Brewster Kaleidoscope Society convention was "Light Houses", and Il Faro is my personal interpretation. I built a music box casing that accepts either one of the 2 different light houses.
By winding up the light house the mechanism will make it turn in front of the kaleidoscope lens and play the "Waltz of Flowers".
The light houses are cast metal decorated with Swarovski crystal, the pedestal is brass to which I hand applied an antiquing patina and a black marble sphere.
The optic is 2 mirrors with a 7 points mandala. Measures 12" long by 13" tall by 5" 1/2 wide. This is an edition of 20. |
